José Calderón is President of the Hispanic Federation (HF), the nation’s premier Latino non-profit membership organization. José manages HF’s overall operations with a primary focus on strategic planning, program development, public policy advocacy and resource development. He is a leading advocate for Hispanic grassroots organizations and pro-Latino legislation locally and nationwide.
Growing up in the Argentine district of Kansas City, Kansas, Janet Muguía’s family experienced the American Dream firsthand. Her parents taught her the values of hard work, sacrifice and the importance of giving back. These same values were evident everywhere in her community, in their contributions, and in their resilience. She was taught by their example, and helped inspire and motivate her to lead UnidosUS, an American institution, which creates opportunities and helps break down barriers for Latinos.
Jose Peralta became the first Dominican-American elected to the New York State Senate in March 2010. He represents the 13th State Senate District, covering Jackson Heights, Corona, Elmhurst, East Elmhurst, and parts of Woodside and Astoria, the most diverse district in the United States. It is the United Nations of all State senate districts. Senator Peralta is a champion of economic development and job creation, advocates for working families, has fought to ensure that a quality public education is available to all, and is a fighter for immigrants’ rights.
Michelle Stoddart is the Director of Public Relations and Community Development for Resorts World Casino New York City (RWNY). She was a member of the executive team that handled record-breaking attendance during the Casino’s debut weekend in October 2011. In her role, Ms. Stoddart coordinates public relations, community partnerships and she’s responsible for coordinating charitable support to more than 100 nonprofit organizations.
Dayra is the Vice President of Sales for Liberty Coca Cola, leading an exciting team in the greater Tri State area in the marketing, sales, and execution of Coca-Cola’s vast portfolio with our consumers, customers, and strategic partners. Dayra is also a member of several organizations including the Network of Executive Women, Women’s linc Northeast Chapter, and the Women’s Foodservice Forum. Additionally, she is president of the New York chapter of LA VIDA Business Resource Group.
The Dominico-American Society of Queens will be hosting the annual Toy Drive for children of low-come families. Help us bring joy to these children this holiday season by donating any unwrapped toy to our location. Any monetary donation is also appreciated.

The Dominico-American Society of Queens will host the 2017 Annual Turkey Drive in an effort to bring low-income families together at the dining table. Many cannot afford the traditional Thanksgiving dinner and share this time with their friends and family.
